First: I love Drambo. It’s a wonderful way of adding modular to my beats and fantastic.

However I am not sure if this is a feature or a bug and would like to know how to handle this. When I start a new project and don’t save it once and then move away from the app around 20 minutes, the project is gone. Loading the auto save project gives me an empty project. I would assume it would actually autosave.

second if I save and then away from the app, the project is gone too. However when loading the autosave it’s coming back.

so a couple of questions: why isn’t autosave saving an unsaved project (would make sense to me)? Why doesn’t “load autosave on startup” not actually load the autosave? Why is the autosave on the local files and not on iCloud even when I save to iCloud?

Having this part of Drambo figured out would make me trust the process even more.

again: thank you for this app.

I've found my best method of getting audio in to Ableton from the huge set that I've made for live performance is to reroute audio via Blackhole (like soundflower for those that remember) but what I'd really like is for the multi channel versions to work - I can only see an output for USB1+2 in drambo. anyone know if this is possible?

I can think of a few safeguards - one would be to have the module default to the current project tempo - and possibly if you remove it, have the project go back to the prior tempo?

unrelated but related, the lack of a project level undo really makes it risky.

I get why, but having it included also breaks tap tempo. some additional features, like double or half time, (maybe other divisions) could aid in its usefulness. it can be hard to lock these intervals in by modulation alone.

Just ideas!

I want to map a fader on my MIDI controller so that I can change Drambos tempo and have some fun with speeding up or slowing down while playing.

Currently I am using the both elegant and ugly workaround to control the speed of an LFO with the MIDI controller and let the square from the LFO generate a MIDI CC that is sent via MIDI feedback back to Drambos control port. Now I can map this CC to Tap Tempo. It works but I wonder if there is a more direct approach.

I notice when I tap on the tempo in MIDI mapping mode a window with mappable settings shows up. The top left one looks like it's the BPM rate but it's only half visible on the screen. I was able to map it but did not change the tempo.

I understand what the envelope follower does - allows modulation based on volume of incoming signal - but I get a bit confused about where to place it in the signal chain, or rather whether I’m trying to do something which isn’t possible?

To explain more precisely, I often want to modulate a parameter on a sound generator, based on volume, but placing an envelope follower after the generator obviously doesn’t allow to modulate back in time (right to left in Drambo) to the generator. Placing the envelope follower before the sound generator obviously means it doesn’t have any audio signal to react to.

So, for example, I just wanted to modulate the resonance of the filter in Dagger using its own volume and the envelope follower module . Is that simply not possible?

I love Drambo. It's one of the most flexible and accessible modular environments I've ever used (Pd, Max, Reaktor, etc.). It also sounds excellent. I most often use it for creation of custom synths/FX where Logic often falls short and find it complements it really well especially on the iPad.

One thing I haven't found a great solution to though is how it handles pitch bend when using it as a synth. I can't find a way to control the actual interval it uses as this appears to be hard coded to an octave within the MIDI CV module. Appreciate fully decoupling this from the module may be straightforward, but would it be possible to add a setting in the MIDI CV module to adjust the interval (ie. +/- 2 instead of 12)?

Thanks for the amazing software @giku!

Each channel can generate its own rhythmic voice for rich, layered drum patterns.

✅ Topographic Engine - Morphable, evolving beats based on the Mutable Instruments Grids Eurorack module. Navigate an X/Y map of interconnected drum patterns extracted from actual drum loops with smooth interpolation between patterns.

✅ Euclidean Engine - generate evenly distributed, world‑inspired rhythm patterns. Configure steps, hits, and start position independently on each channel for precise control.

✅ Blend Control - Crossfade between Topographic and Euclidean patterns to introduce variation while preserving the core character of your groove.

✅ Linear Drumming - Control which drums play together or play alone. Each sound has room to breathe. Creates clean, articulate patterns. Used in Hip-Hop, IDM, Funk, Fusion.

✅ Velocity Bender - Shape velocity dynamics for a more expressive, dynamic pulse. Create ghost notes, and rhythmic emphasis that bring patterns to life.

✅ Groove Tools - Swing, humanization, clock division, and timing shift. Fine-tune the feel of your patterns from tight and mechanical to loose and human.

Otoo suggestions:

1. Help mode. A toggle button. When active, any control you touch shows a brief bit of help text on the screen. It really helps people learn the UI. Apps with no text can look clean but can also be hard to figure out. Not sure I would have worked out the stop-note symbol without the manual.

2. Already mentioned elsewhere - MIDI in and out

3. Get someone to to a better YouTube tutorial! Gavinski's is not up to his usual standard (sorry Gav). He's a nice guy but he doesn't seem to understand the app, doesn't like the workflow/genre and his video ends with him complaining about his income! And he completely ignores the sampler. I think he was just having a bad day but there are currently not any other in-depth vids out there, just a few short demos. ( I do agree with him on the sharp symbol though...)

4. Consider an AUV3 plugin version so we can run it in AUM. It wouldn't be able to host AUV3 but it would make it easier to integrate it into a larger setup. Ideally it would come as both an audio and midi plugin.

5. Some sort of integration with Drambo. If this sounds vague it's because it I don't really know what I mean or what is possible but being able to run it alongside or inside Drambo would be fun.

I realise that 4 and 5 are lots of work but hey, if we don't ask we don't get.

Even without all this stuff it's a great app at a great price. Thanks!

I have some functions mapped with Drambo internal shift button. The leds works perfecty well when shift is pressed. (eg: Shift + Pad1 = Pattern 1 select. Without shift the Pad 1 don't do nothing, but led still showing up)

If there is light on state with the shift, the leds will not switch off when shift released, (0 state).

So i don't want to see the leds for the mapped functions when shift is not pressed . (there is no function mapped without shift)

Any solution?

The new additive mode is great. I would love it to not sound notes played on the keyboard, pads or external controller (Launchpad etc.) for the duration the step is held via touchscreen or Launchpad. This would make live tweaking of running sequences a lot easier. And as it’s for live tweaking I would only suppress the note playing this way when the sequencer is running.
