I always thought the Shot Sampler should have a round robin mode. Even doing round robin in Flexi requires additional modules, and becomes cumbersome for more than 16 slices. (Start Slice: Round Robin in Flexi would be nice too)
but yeah @redpill you'll find more control in Flexi Sampler with Mode=1 Slice and Start Slice=Offset / Note / Velocity
I've only used RR for percussive samples so far and that's where Sampler shines: The 4 velocity layers per key can be used for RR very well (with equal volume) and as I prefer to have different velocity hits on different keys sometimes (better control and support of MIDI controllers without velocity sensitive pads), that works well for me.

Yes, that's exactly what Shot Sampler is supposed to do with sliced material.
What exactly do you mean by 'simply play back my slices'?
Flexi Sampler might be better if you want more control in regards to slice triggering.
