How does modulation work mathematically?
I am not clear how modulation works mathematically.
Example: I want to modulate the Amount parameter of the transpose module. The parameter knob goes from -12 to 12. Then I use a simple knob with the default -1 to 1 range as modulation source. When the modulation is set up, another knob for the modulation amount appears.
What is the formula that describes this path:
source -> modulation amount knob -> target parameter knob -> actual value
Comments
Actual Value = (target parameter knob setting) + (source * (modulation amount setting))
BTW just a hint: If you modulate the transposition, the modulated pitch won't be effective before the next Note-On message.
@giku Please correct me if I'm wrong ;)
@rs2000 thanks for helping so quickly.
there was a fairly recent bugfix for this i think.
