MIDI losing channel info when going to Koala AUv3

Drambo seems to be setting all midi notes to channel one win they are sent to koala sampler loaded as a processor.

I’ve tested this with both a midi keyboard and with setting the MIDI channel of the notes I’m sending to Koala.

I want to use different channel numbers to use the Pads of my controller sometimes to trigger samples and sometimes as controller info for Drambo overall.

Koala seems to work as expected inside AUM.

[edit see below] If there is a problem, it has to be with your Koala settings. I've verified with both a midi monitor and with midi learn in Koala itself. The notes are received on the channel that is set in the channel filter.

Do you have `Use MIDI Mapping` turned on in Koala? Have you tried MIDI learning pads? When you do the midi learn, the pads should reflect the channel set in the Channel Filter Module.

Ahh. I found something. There's a difference if you use the Processor (FX) version or the Generator version. The channels are received in channel 1 in the FX version.

@giku MIDI is getting forced to channel 1 when it's sent to an FX. I verified this with a different plugin (NuRack FX). It's not a Koala issue.

@VinylDinosaur - it will work with the instrument version of Koala, but you won't be able to do any sampling in the instrument instance.

  • Thanks for checking my issue report - I couldn’t remember which other AUv3 FX would be good to test, so NuRack FX is a good choice. @number37

  • Hallo - just giving this a bump! It’d be great to be able to feed multiple channels of MIDI into Koala loaded as a processor. I’m sure it could help other plug-ins too.
