btw. Drambo is as energy efficient as possible, using NEON SIMD processing and ARM assembly.

Have you tried disabling iCloud sync? It helped me with overheating and CPU overload. Although I occasionally experience significant overheating when using Drambo.
Extreme heat-up also started to become much more common with iOS 26's background tasks like analyzing photos using the on-device GPU to tell you which of your own photos you're supposed to like, for example 😉
It started when charging the device, for example.
I just had it happen on my iPhone with latest iOS while the ones running older iOS versions all stayed cool, like before.
do note that some plugins store their presets in the cloud by default, and won't sync with your other iOS devices if disabled. You will also lose Ableton Link and network MIDI.
Not without jailbreaking your iDevice, like so often.
You can indirectly influence the behavior by disabling Apple Intelligence related features, like Photos "Enhanced Visual Search", "Memories", Featured Content etc.
Apple will use your iDevice's GPU to do background processing on your content in order to help you categorize and manage it, and that definitely causes heat. I hope that future iOS releases will keep that processing more lightweight.
I've switched these functions off because I find that automatic photo management more irritating and messy than helpful.

Tank you. I hope i slove this problem, because revert to old ipad is only solution right now.
I use a hub with various controllers as well as charge my Pro 11 M4 via the PD hub.
No issues here but Loopy hosting Drambo is 60% CPU at most.

Can such background tasks be disabled by any chance?
I expect disabling iCloud Photo sync, deleting photos on the device and turning Wi-Fi off should do the trick.
I know it sounds excessive but these rules apply when playing in somebody else’s house. Guerilla tactics etc.
