miRack stopped working inside Drambo
Hi. Since yesterday (april 5), miRack is not working inside Drambo, whenever I try to open a new instance either as an instrument or as an FX processor, Drambos Auv3 module just says Error. Have never seen this message and miRack was fully working the day before. I use it on a daily basis for my eurorack hybrid setup and would love to get any insight into what could be happenning as I have a live show this weekend and need to set everything
thanks in advance!

Which Drambo version are you using (open Drambo's Settings and scroll down to the 'INFO' section)?
V2.51(3) also forgot to say miRack does work im standalone and I can use all my other imstruments and effects inside Drambo
miRack was just updated a few days ago. Perhaps it was the update, or perhaps you haven't installed the update. Or Maybe it's the patch you last used, though that's unlikely if it's both the FX and the Instrument plugin.
Can you think back to anything you might have changed (OS update, miRack update, Drambo update, buffer settings, peripherals, etc) since you last used it?
And of course ... have you tried force-quitting all apps and powering the iPad or Phone off and back on?
fwiw, it's working fine here on the latest of both Drambo and miRack, but one update behind on iPadOS 26.
Yeah, miRack recently updated, but I have used it since that update with no problem. I did had my eurorack plugged through usb the last time I used it, Ill check that once Im in the studio in a couple hours. Have not messed with settings or buffer size, etc and yeah, I turned off and back on my iPad and even deleted both apps and reinstal them, but the problem persisted.
Are you just opening a Drambo project which you left open for a while in the background (auto-saved project)? Or are you going to the hamburger menu, tapping 'Open' and then opening a saved project?
I'm asking because there is a known bug that corrupts states of AUv3s plugins inside Drambo but only in these auto-saved projects. So if you saved the project and then left it open in the background, the auto-saved project could have become corrupted (I don't know when exactly it auto-saves but I guess it is sometime after you exit Drambo) but the manually saved project should be still working (if you didn't overwrite it with this corrupted state). It's supposedly fixed in the latest beta version. Haven't tested it properly though because it is hard to replicate intentionally and reliably.
No, this happens with a blank project. Just create a new project (8 tracks), create an Audio Instrument and when loading miRack it wont run.
Just trying it out connecting my midi/bluetooth controller and my ES9 audio interface but still getting the same error :( Haha I love miRack Plateau Reverb, I can clock my system from Drambo natives modules amd do must of what I use miRack for usomg Drambo alone, but have not found a reverb like Plateau :( nor some of the sequencers inside MiRack VS the cv stuff inside Drambo.
Sorry, got no more ideas ... And I feel you. It's always a pain in the ass when something is supposed to work and it doesn't :(
Someone on the Loopy Pro forum reported miRack not loading in AUM. Again, working fine for me.
Providing details of which device, OS version, etc. would be a good idea to see if there's any commonality. The poster on the Loopy Pro forum is using iPhone on iOS 18.6.2.
It's always a good idea to open apps in standalone once after an install or update, just to be sure everything initializes correctly.
[edit] nvm. I missed that you have done that.
Hi, I am using an Ipad Air M3 running IpadOS 26.3.1. Mirack does work in standalone but cannot open it using Drambo.
I just went through miRack update history, and theres one from a couple hours before it stopped working, so defs it has to do with that. Yet still I don't know what to do :(
This is so annoying, I have a show in a couple days and my setup relies heavily on using the app inside Drambo. I am trying to build from scratch similar stuff using Drambo native modules, but I would rather be using my music time for rehearsing and preparing loops :(
I am also scared that as miRack seems kinda abandonware (although I guess its not as they do come with an update every couple years), I wont even get an answer from them.
Better contact them ASAP. The less time you waste, more chances you get some kind of answer.
Yeah, I sent a ticket through their suppot section in their web, but I feel like its going nowhere hehe Hope Im wrong
Pfffff I just deleted and restored my entire iPad but the problem persists. W.T.F.
Restoring an iPad forces the latest OS and app updates, so it wouldn't fix an issue caused by a miRack update. That is the sad reality of iOS/iPadOS. Backups are really only for data recovery.
It's too late now, but if you're performing, it's best to turn off automatic updates of both the OS and apps. It's also highly recommended to back up your apps to a PC or Mac using the iMazing app. The free version is adequate. You can even keep multiple old versions and revert to them. The catch is, the apps are backed up from the App Store, not your device, so you have to have backed up the app before a problematic App Store release, regardless of whether you've updated or not.

Yeah, I was just checking if that did something... I have also checked and miRack is not working in AUM (it says Audio Unit plugin invalidated) so they have broken something with this last update.
Never heard of this backing up apps, looks like a healthy habit. But yeah, Im def trhowing the towel with miRack until theres any news about new updates. Its a shame, I really enjoy using its sequencers to play my modular and some of its sound effects are a lot of fun :(
I doubt it'll make any difference, but it's worth a try to open the standalone version, go to settings, and turn off the "New Engine Version" option. If it doesn't help, then remember to turn it back on.
Also, in Drambo, what Buffer size do you have set? Some apps can choke on very low or very high buffer settings.
I'm grasping at straws here since miRack has no problem loading in Drambo for me and the only other report I've seen of it failing are in a different host, different device, and different operating system version.
Oh wow, I just got an email from miRack with a new update and its working now! I now feel bad for doubting them :(
Everything seems to be fixed now! Now back to patching
Awesome!
(wishing bugs were also fixed that fast here 🙄)
