Link Audio
Perhaps the new Link Audio library from Ableton could be useful for some users of Drambo. It allows audio streaming over networks and it could work between apps on a local device.

There seems to be a number of options for AUv3s to do the work, but it could be nice to have native support.

The Link Audo SDK for iOS at this time only includes send, not receive. The developer of a plugin called AudioPipeline (not released - in beta) received permission from Ableton to use the Mac SDK, and so has been able to get two-way audio going, even between apps on the same device.
However, that's a special case right now. The official SDK for iOS doesn't yet support two-way.
(Note: before getting hopes up too high, there is quite a bit of latency involved, even between apps on the same device. Even Ableton Live defaults to 100ms latency. Testing over USB cable, actual latency is on the order of 90+ ms. So, even with wired Ethernet, playing live is going to be a challenge, but playing pre-made stuff is a lot of fun.)
Since my post above, someone measured latency on the same device with the AudioPipeline plugin at 10ms. That ain't shabby at all. That would be pretty darn usable even for live work between hosts on-device.
Th AudioPipeline plugin currently isn't reporting its latency to hosts correctly, which probably accounted for the large offset people have been hearing. That is being addressed.

Only low latency between apps on the same device. Between other devices it's been 50ms - 100ms even over wired connection.
You can even still use iDAM at the same time as this over a USB cable to a Mac. I didn't expect iDAM to still work at the same time.
Ah OK, that's how I understood it at first.
At least it looks like a great way to beam audio clips over to Ableton clip slots.
Since my last post, I've achieved under 10ms latency over USB and Ethernet, and under 25ms over WiFi. That's pretty darn usable for most things. What's more, the latency doesn't seem to go down as I add channels (though I've not tried more than five channels or so.
