Cannot map CC64
I just noticed that I cannot map CC64 from my Novation Launchcontrol XL3 to a Drambo Project.
Not sure if it's an error on my side, a bug in Drambo or by design.
The MIDI mapping is just not reacting to CC64. I am aware that this is the CC for the sustain pedal but do think that this should not be an issue as Drambos mapping system maps not only CC and Channel but the source device as well.

Yes, CC64 is reserved for sustain and therefore filtered from the mappable MIDI stream.
Since it's common that MIDI notes, controllers and sustain pedal messages come from the same device/MIDI port, this is intended behavior.
Yes, that makes sense in general but I do not see a reason for this limitation in Drambo. I can map my launchcontrol via MIDI mappings and when I disable it for tracks it will not interfere with any of the synthesizer operations. Because I often use continuous CC ranges on my fader controllers holes in the available MIDI CC range are often inconvenient.
MIDI as a whole is pretty inconvenient… it’s a 40+ yo protocol that’s been worked around for decades. Also think of people that want CC64 to work for what old midi wanted it
In many desktop hosts CC64 is used to add a rest/tie when doing step note-entry and this would be quite handy in Drambo. Ie. If it was possible to map it I would map it to the rest/tie button.
Don't underestimate the benefit of a widely accepted standard that is supported by a lot of hard- and software. A protocol itself isn't convenient or inconvenient, it's what you build around it. Take UDP as an example. It's considered a compact but stupid, unreliable, outdated network protocol by many but did anyone complain about Ableton LINK being a bad solution?
We've seen how annoying it can be when a controller manufacturer only supports their own software, with no MIDI support at all. I'm glad we have it.
What I propose would in no way prohibit CC64 being used the standard way.
It would be nice to have CC64 either be assignable, or work as a sustain pedal, by making the midi to cv modules hold note off messages until the sustain off message is received.
