the site is a plethora of bach midi files, if you need test midi that isn’t rubbish or just love bach. And it’s one of those ancient sites, no adds, no bullshit, just plain links to whatever fugue you want
Nonono, not now, I was just wondering if it was already implemented. The scene module is not overwhelmingly popular but also not overlooked. Give it time 😅 cause it has lots of potential.
and I know now you’re busy with your current babies, grain and looper
I could use some (even if summarized) written help with those, though.
@pedro Not that busy, slowly waking up from holidays :)
And I'm on the visual as well. Mostly thinking what and where is missing (ofc presets ..) . Starting from the new Video module with cam recording and audio output.
@giku, since you’re thinking about Visual, can I ask why there isn’t a 4:3 export option? Seems like a strange omission when 4:3 is one of the projector aspect ratios available? If it’s not just an oversight, can I request it please? Cheers.
@gravitas regarding the only having one texture input. Can't we just ask the LLM to add a second one? I think I remember @giku saying that was possible.
Comments
@giku besides pitch and velocity, can I use aftertouch as an additional substrate (he, going with the gardening analogy)?
I can use cc as well, expression wheel, maybe, but it’s not clear to me what exactly the ways are to access that in the MIDIKeyState access.
could you please clarify how to access that _in the code_, or is it maybe already explained in the docs and I missed it?
Better let Bach do the playing:
Add sound to taste
Edit: for future reference this was the original midi I just imported directly to the sequencer from the downloads folder https://www.bachcentral.com/ORGAN/toccata2.mid

For now it's only MIDI key on/off with velocity. More will be added when you need it. Is it now? :)
btw. This is lovely!
nice idea

Thanks, I have you and Ed to thank for inspiration

This will be the next step once it doesn’t look like I’m growing shrooms
Wait you guys have holidays?
just kidding, hope you enjoyed yours an got back refreshed
now get back to work 😂
Well, jain :). I visited my mother and the family in Poland. No drinks and chill, but something essential.
🙏
btw, I've been super busy with work myself lately, but don't think I haven't burned any midnight oil with DV. I have a couple new projects cooking.
Glad to hear you got some family time and R&R ♥️
Hey @giku while you're here, I just wanted to remind you of this one little bug I can think of.
I think it's in the 3D Mask Texture Sampler XY overflow thing. While it's on "Clamp" by default, it thinks it's in "repeat" mode by default.
Thanks a lot.. I noticed the control doesn't update on load and shows false information.

Maybe you guys haven't heard about "Calçada Portuguesa" (Portuguese Cobblestone Pavement https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portuguese_pavement).
Anyway I did a little shader to simulate it, you know, making each little cobble extrude, etc.
I gave the LLM these examples:
And with just a few simple directions it gave me this back:
Except it just gave me pictures, no code (I wish) well sorry to mislead and disappoint
Looks pretty though, don't you agree?
Learning something new everyday.
I haven't heard about "Calçada Portuguesa" however my first though was Gaudi and his mosaics.
The A.I generated images look very cool and I'm sure we could get something going like that using the 3D Shaders.
After seeing the images rendered in Mandelbulb 3D I'm aiming to get that level of detail using dRambo fractals, raymarching and texture mapping.
Some artists have explored the boundaries of the “medium” to bring contemporary takes on icons like Amália
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vhils
If I just extruded that picture and started selling pictures that guy would probably come after me with a lawsuit
lololol, now, now....lololol
Inspired by your picture I'm going to be doing a few extrusion pieces I think to get the technique down.
There's so many ways to do it.
Here's a screenshot;
wow
Wow @pedro! Yes I saw many nice cobblestone streets in Lisbon. Is that the best place or are there better?
You gotta smack your LLM until it gives you code for making that.
Yeah, I love it when you have to remind the LLM that we’re wanting code only.
btw @pedro have you updated your classic “extrude” processor shader?
@pedro finally played around with using texture mapping via the Scene module.
Discovered we can only have one Texture input, two would be cool so that
we could have one texture for the foreground and one texture for the background.
Here's my results so far.
That looks amazing @gravitas
it actually reminds me of @pedro 's old shader processor.
@gravitas regarding the only having one texture input. Can't we just ask the LLM to add a second one? I think I remember @giku saying that was possible.
Thank you.
Is that one still floating around ?
I added two texture inputs to the code and the Scene module dug it's heels in and said ,"nope, it ain't happening".
I'm still getting the grid to image scaling right so give me a couple of days on that side of things
and then I'm going to go in and starting animating the grid so it can move nicely.
I've got a few 2D grids for the Scene module from when I was learning to vibe code with some nice peaks and dips.
It's a beginning. ;)
That’s a start
😍
