No one else having Audio Unit problems since the Visual update?

Seemed repeatable that Audio Units fail to load when opening projects in landscape mode on iPhone. But no longer the case. All my saved projects now fail to load Audio Units for the time being.

  • I can't reproduce this on my iPhone 13 nor on my iPad Pro 11" M1

  • So I started a brand new project and now I cannot add any AU processors at all. AU instruments yes, but any AU processor reads “error”. I rebooted my phone to no avail.

  • I’m quite perplexed. I thought to myself that the Visual update can’t be the culprit, because i remember having successfully completed a small project with AU processors when the VIS update first came out.

So i just opened said project with no issues, repeatedly. Some of the same effects that i cannot open in a new project are all loading fine in said project. But older projects prior to Visual update fail to load. 🤷‍♂️

  • Now I’m able to load AU processors again. It just seems so arbitrary. I’m not doing anything different. I simple make sure Safari is always quit. I did connect to BY speakers and disconnect again. I’ll remember that.

It’s an old device but i still have lots of memory.

  • I really don’t expect giku to help since I’m prollally the only one using such an old relic.I will probably upgrade my phone this weekend since my se2 doesn’t owe me a dime. My memory isn’t nearly full, but what else is there to try?

i have my m2 air ipad, but the telephone is always around to execute my ideas for building instruments and FX, which i then transfer to the ipad.

  • I don't think it has anything to do with visuals. I will try to repeat it on my iphone XS.

You aren't by any chance trying to load AUv3 plugins while Drambo is running as an AUv3, are you?

  • No.

I would like to try reinstalling Drambo, but i’m not 100% confident on how to back up everything Drambo related before doing so. I’ve got a few years of templates and racks that I’ve built.

  • Like, i don’t have an SSD. Is it as simple as copying the entire Drambo folder structure to icloud before deleting?

  • No.

That only saves projects and media. Saving your modules if you made any requires something like WinSCP and webdav (no idea on mac what’s the best choice)

basically only what you see on files—> icloud can be transferred there, and you can see there aren’t any module folders there. Only projects. Of course you can have your modules in the project and local copy them afterwards, you can always go search the project it was but sometimes I can’t remember what I did last week

  • On the other hand, beta or every appstore update, I never had Drambo lose one single file

  • On my iPad the Drambo folder (the local one under “On my iPad”, not the iCloud one) contains everything: locally stored Documents (projects), Presets (modules), MIDI (mappings), Samples and Visual stuff. I had no problems backing up that folder by copying it to my Nextcloud server and restoring my stuff after a fresh install of Drambo. Works with iCloud too.

You could try Offloading the app, which removes it but keeps your data. This should be perfectly safe, but do find a way to back up first!

  • The scary part is over. I did a full reinstall (not just offload) and successfully got my old projects and custom processor tracks, track presets, ect loading. Some projects still not loading with AUs, but at least it’ll let me add AU processors for the time being with no error. I did it from icloud btw.
