i need help
im not a complete beginner, i know how some things work and have been able to construct some basic synthesizers, but i haven’t been able to finish track partially because I don’t know exactly what I’m doing, i would say i need help with something specific, but the things i need help w arent specific! like whats a cv?? idk what im doing and need help please

I'd suggest to read the manual and watch tutorial videos like
https://www.youtube.com/@benrichards4554/videos (start with the oldest videos that give you an introduction)
then ask specific questions.
CV means "Control Voltage" and it's the same idea as a CV signal/voltage in a modular hardware synth.
It's very difficult to help without some kind of specifics to go from. Maybe start with something you'd like to do, describe that, then say what you don't understand about doing it.
Or, open a factory patch and look carefully at it. Describe what you don't understand about how it works.
Think of CV simply like the way an electrical circuit works. For instance, a dimmer switch. The dimmer varies the amount of electrical current that reaches the bulb, which affects it's brightness.
I feel your pain @jacklynthehuman, I had no experience at all with modular terms not that long ago and the documentation is so often written from the perspective of someone who forgets that someone else with no understanding needs really basic explanations that don’t refer to other things they don’t have experience of!
If you don’t know what CV stands for in Drambo, there’s a fair chance you don’t know what a CV is in a hardware modular synth so the reference doesn’t help.
Both @rs2000 and @number37 are spot on but to put it even more plainly, a CV is a variable signal used to control a parameter (i think that’s correct - others, please correct me if that explanation is wrong!).
In software, of course, it’s digital and not an electrical control voltage at all - the term CV is used purely used out of choice so that it immediately makes sense to people coming from hardware modular environments.
@number37 analogy of a dimmer switch is spot on. The cv signal would be generated for instance by a knob that you could then use to modulate an oscillator pitch, an envelope attack, an FM index, the scan position of a sample player, pretty much anything really
it has been a bit and im definitely more experienced now~ i watched some of the tutorials and im currently working on my first track on drambo, i might send it here when its done if thats fine
