Sample Pool to allow sample per step feature
As the title suggests, would it be possible to add a sample pool to Drambo that the user can add samples to, allowing them to place a different sample per step quickly and easily, similar to the Digitakt workflow, you can add upto 1024 samples to a pool on the Digitakt 2.

Kind of a workaround but I do this by creating sample chains with flexisampler and set slices
Do you have any tricks to automate this? I know perhaps a python script to create the chains and output the slice’s offsets as a list would help, but still a lot of work if it’s 1024 slices 😅

Well not really automating, but I have used koala to sample oneshots and then just send ascending semitones set to a bit longer than the longest sample to koala and record that. Then flexi's transient detection, if the material allows (with synth oneshots so far it has). It's a bit messy with more silence in between the notes than necessary, but works.
You could also just use the Sampler, make one folder per your sample pool and use the auto-map (create zones from folder) feature to automatically place them to keys.
Changing the note on a step will then let you choose a different sample, and when moving a note in pianoroll, you even get a fast live preview.
Add a pitch module (oct, semi, fine) in front of Sampler but keep Sampler's pitch input connected to MIDI2CV and let pitch module's output modulate Sampler's Pitch knob.
This gives you both: The capability to trigger any sample you want, at any pitch you want - by p-locking pitch on a step.
I have a Digitakt myself and I find this just as quick, although Drambo is polyphonic and supports stereo and compressed samples out of the box.
@rs2000 if Sampler module had an offset control, it would be amazing! I think for some workflows manual offset is better than having to go in and add slices that are locked in.
one cool feature that could be added would be a split - where you can drag a zone to extend a sample's range, then split it into a bunch of individual zones. then we could chop individual slices as needed. Or a quick 'duplicate' option to create a new zone from the same sample.
If I was to choose which knob to get rid of, in order to keep Sampler compact, I would replace the Velocity knob by an Offset knob that has a modulation input.
