Loop through only section of a scene?
Is it possible to loop through just a section of a scene? Like if my scene is 16 beats, can I just loop through beats 9-12 so I can work on the sequence of just those beats on a loop?

The only way to try will be the jump component in step edit.
'm under the impression that @giku is currently working on track lengths but I guess this still isn't exactly what you're asking.
@supadom yeah, but that jump component would only loop that one specific “track” in the scene, not “all tracks” in the scene, right?
Yes indeed. Also I don’t think it would work if you wanted to loop a section in the middle of the pattern. Other than being rather laborious do do.
This definitely makes working with longer patterns “less fun”. @giku i don’t know if this is on your radar, but would be great to have.
Maybe if you could lock the scene loop to the section of it you are editing?
Yes this feature was already discussed and is being strongly considered :)
🙏
and @drez: What about a long-tap on the "1/4" field to loop through the visible part? Knob will turn red as long as loop is active.
Edit:
Another idea: When 1/1 is already shown (and enabling loop does not make sense) then tap+hold will let you choose a range from start to end by dragging over the loop range with a second finger! 🤩
Yeah I like #2. It gives more options, but is still elegant and out of the way.
Good ideas. One of them could be holding or latching loop icon and tapping on 1/1 button or the opposite (and further selecting area).
We already have hold step + play gesture, this behaviour would be more consistent.
Even better.
Touching the loop icon will work as before.
Holding the loop icon and dragging a step range will set a playback/recording loop area.
I like it! Simple and useful.
Yep, sounds good...and then same thing for individual tracks. ;)
It will be called clips ;)
