I have to apps that claim to do it, and neither do.
one is called DUO (currently a TestFlight beta) and I forget the other one.
I run the same apps on iPadOS, coming from Live/Reason - with all KoRg collections and Gadget versions on win11, and the only app that I can get to work properly is MIDi DESIGNER PRO, and LK (w/Abelton)
Technically, you can do this without audio cables by using this interface https://www.iconnectivity.com/store/audio4c . Two computing devices can send audio data to each other, without AD/DA latency.
But in terms of apps, my understanding is that nothing really works right for this. But I'm a bit out of the loop.
Nothing is going to work well without cables. High latency and dropped audio are always going to be an issue over WiFi. If you want to try, SonoBus is probably your best bet. There's also studiomux, but that one is unreliable and developer support is poor.
Are you using Live on a Mac or on a Windows PC? If on a Mac and you can stomach using a single USB cable, there's iDAM to get audio directly into the computer. There's also a new app called SideRack that would let you use AUv3 instances of Drambo running on the iPad directly inside Live. SideRack also needs a USB cable, and has some latency. iDAM is the most direct, but only supports a single stereo output.
tbh, exporting to audio, transferring to the desktop and importing to live is often the least troublesome route by the time you end up dealing with latency and the annoying setup.
Thank you dears. I would have liked to connect Drambo iPad to the Mac with no frills also for a live performance. I belive that, before buying the Audio 4c, I can use Drambo AUv3 by mapping the useful controls in Ableton.
manipuluslux, I don’t understand very well your set-up☺️
Why not at least try using iDAM? That's a single USB cable and no frills. The computer should also power the iPad/Phone. Audio is only one-way, from the device to the Mac, but midi can go both ways. Latency is very, very low.
You really wouldn't want to go wireless in a live situation anyway. That's a recipe for disaster.
It won't work out if you need to plug an instrument into your iPad though.
Fwiw, i use Drambo stand alone on the Mac to sequence Ableton Live since i love the sequencer so much.
I wish i could route Midi from Drambo as a hosted plugin within Live, but that’s not an option for us at the moment.
if i want to send Audio over i just use an ADAT device to send over 4 Stereo channels to Ableton (but this requires an audio interface with ADAT support).
IDAM works great as well, even though it’s a single Stereo channel going into Ableton…i just use Drambo on ipad to set my levels, and Master everything in Live.
Yeah, I saw that. But honestly, I think what the Original Poster wants is what we all want, multi out from iPad to the Desktop :) I don't think BlackHole will fill that 'hole' :)
Blackhole with standalone Drambo on OSX would be great with multi-channel outs but unfortunately it's not possible to select an audio interface with Drambo on desktop.
Blackhole works really well with VCV and other apps, and even routing DAWs into each other.
@rs2000 That would be possibly work but audio out of Drambo would still be stereo. Loopback would work similarly, but ideally wishing for Drambo to support multiple audio interfaces natively on OSX

Or. Get an Audio 4c.

Really thanks🙏😜

Here's a useful starting place for iDAM. https://www.cultofmac.com/615742/how-to-record-digital-audio-from-your-iphone-to-your-mac-with-idam/

@echoopera have you tried this?
I've started using it for routing audio from Reaper to OBS Studio, it seems like it could also be used to route audio from dRambo to Ableton.
I use Loopback which does a similar thing but only see Stereo Out on the desktop. I wonder if BlackHole supports the MultiOut from Drambo.
@echoopera there's a 16 channel version of Blackhole so maybe that could be used for MultiOut from dRambo.

Ahhh directly from the iPad, nah Blackhole isn't going to work there.
That's external audio interface time.
I was thinking about dRambo standalone on Apple Silicon machines.
My apologies. ;)
No worries. I think more info in this area is better than less info.
No wireless😌I will use Drambo AUv3 plugin just in Ableton☺️
Yes, the same also I for IDAM😇
This artist has some great work using iPads and Ableton live:

Have you tried to add an OSX Aggregate Device in Audio Midi setup?

apple needs to get its ass up
they sell iPads and Macs with m4 chips and all they can share with each other is a single stereo out. WTF?!?
how long is this going on now? 10 years? and they didnt do shit.
its a sad joke
I am not going to buy a new iPad until they fix this ;)
