ringmod trick
If you use Wavetable with a very small pulse width to ring mod a sample you can get all kinds crackle sounds that still support the same frequency. By moving the phase of the osc or the Offset of the sample you can find all kinds of buzzes. Does work on melodic sounds too but I find it really interesting as part of drum sounds. Makes me think of how a snare can buzz if it vibrates.
Below I'm mixing the crackle sound with a Sine so you can hear it's frequency. I'll post one in a moment that doesn't have the Sine.
