Adding an AU instance of Dagger to Drambo during playback causes crackle.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned here and I’ve missed it.

@giku, not sure if this counts as a bug or not but I’ve noticed that adding an AU instance of Dagger to Drambo during playback causes a nasty (ish) audio crackle. Doesn’t happen when other AUs are added during playback and since Drambo and Dagger are both Beepstreet creations, it seems unfortunate that it’s the one affected, hence why I’m posting about it.

  • Slight clarification: there needs to be audible content on other tracks during the playback for the crackle to be heard when the instance of Dagger is added. Just adding an instance of Dagger to an empty project with playback running won’t do it. Cheers.

  • @giku Please have a look at this the 'crackle noise' that happens could be related to the buffer-size being used as the 'sound' of the crackle is different depending on which buffer-size is being used.

A quick solution could be to NOT output anything from the Dagger AUv3 until it's fully initialized as it sounds like a garbled buffer is being sent to the host.

    Cheers!

  • Thanks for reporting, I suppose it's due to a high CPU load on Dagger initialization, will try to fix it.
