Drambo in Ableton as MIDI Step Sequencer?
Hi all -
Just looking for a sanity check before I make the purchase of Drambo. My goal is to run it as an AUv3 plugin in Ableton primarily for the step sequencer functionality to spit MIDI out to my external synths. So really just MIDI note and CC information passing out via Ableton.
Is this feasible? Hard to tell exactly based on the demo videos I've seen so far. Thanks in advance,

No, midi out won't work that well in Ableton because Ableton does not support multiple midi channels from AUs or VSTs. Everything will be combined to channel 1. This is an Ableton issue.
However you can run Drambo as a standalone app on your Mac and sync it using Ableton Link. This works really well.
You could have one Drambo instance on each track, why not? It's very CPU efficient if you only use it as a sequencer anyway ;)
And you could use the multi-track step grid sequencer with notes forced into any custom scale, merged and sent over one MIDI channel.
Ahh thanks for the feedback. Perhaps standalone is worth a shot.
Should have mentioned, the approach you're thinking about, works well in Logic.
