@pedro said it, it's meant to be used with loops and their length in beats adjusted in the "Sync" field to make them fit whatever project tempo you're using. Depending on the length of your sample, it may take a while until the properly stretched version is audible. Until the process is done, you'll hear the re-pitched version.
So this loop playback is independent from the input pitch.
The offline stretching process was chosen because low-latency realtime stretching won't give you the same sound quality.
Got it, thank you very much for clarifying @rs2000, i really appreciate it as always.
Shame it doesn’t have a real time stretch element to enable regular duration for pitched notes but, as you say, that’s easier said than done while retaining quality.
As someone else suggested to you in another thread, Drambo could really do with some documentation (or, at least, all of the modules having an up to date description in ‘?’ mode). There’s nothing in the app to explain the Flexi Stretch mode, what it does, what it doesn’t do, how to activate it. Even in the release notes, it’s there as ‘- (Flexi: time stretching)’ as if it’s listed as an after thought or by accident with no further explanation. I mean, c’mon @giku, at least give some clues somewhere so that those of us who aren’t on the beta will at least have a chance of finding and knowing how to use new features - I say this only because i really admire and love using Drambo and want to be able to use it to its fullest capacity; as such, hopefully it might be useful feedback.
Thanks again for your help @pedro and @rs2000 and thanks for the update @giku. Cheers.

It's in the module menu (click top of module)
thank you @BoutiqueCase
discovered that in meantime.
so there are no additional settings, like different algos, or new duration?
I haven’t delved into it but it stretches a loop to your set number of beats under sync on the flexi module.
Stretch is on by default (but set it by tapping flexi header bar)
For instance try this:
Start a new project and insert a flexi Load aftobeat 95, keep default project tempo at 120bpm
Make (tap-slide) one big note for all 16 steps
Press play… no stretch
Then under sync choose 4 beats.
You see (I mean, hear?)
Now change the project tempo
Thanks @pedro. Yes i can certainly hear it doing its thing in the scenario you described.
So, it doesn’t stretch the time of the sample so that it has the same duration regardless of the pitch of the incoming MIDI note?
I’ve tried setting sync to Pitch but that doesn’t work.
AFAIK it’s now a combination of both:
So, the Stretch function as it is currently is designed to only really be used in conjunction with the root MIDI note C2? Would that be correct?
@rs2000, @giku…could do with your expert guidance and knowledge!
i find when timestretch is enabled, the pitch knob does something like pitch- or frequency- or formantshifting?
drambo app crashes when turning the songtempo all the way down.
