Playhead direction for built-in step sequencer

edited October 23 in Feature Wish-lists

@giku

While we´re in the momentum of getting a new (or updated) built-in stepsequencer.

Could it also get built-in playhead direction options, such as FWD/REV/RND/Pendulum/Brownian. If possible a modulatable toggle for said playhead directions.

While at it, adjustable pattern length by clocked modulation.

While these features might be able to be realised with smaller sequence modules, it would be great to have it built in in the track step sequencer by default.

Thanks for all

  • I'm thinking about the other way, letting sequencer module to work with clips.

  • I can understand that vision, as it is more modular and can be inserted on any clip.

    Would be nice then to get random playhead direction in the Sequencer module, and/or the Euclidean module.

  • @giku Please don’t forget about this when thinking about this area:

    Ping-Pong and Note On/Note Off control within the existing Sequencer Module.

    ‘As pointed out by rs2000: There is one thing that Drambo’s sequencer module does differently, compared to Fugue Machine: When running backwards, it will look at Note-On messages instead of Note-Off messages like Fugue Machine, resulting in a different timing.’
