Help me understand Zeeon unison mode.

The information on unison mode is quite sparse in the Zeeon manual. For example, how many voices are there in unison mode? The manual doesn’t say how much polyphony Zeeon has, but I read somewhere it’s eight voices reduced to 4 when using two layers in a sound. So is unison the same? Any knowledge you can pass on to me about unison mode in general would be deeply appreciated. Thanks!

  • I had a read of the manual and a quick look around as I don't have Zeeon myself.

    I found this explanation.

"Poly means it can play multiple notes at once. Mono means it can only play one note at a time. Paraphonic means multiple notes at once through some shared components (e.g 1 filter). Unison is a feature of polyphonic synths where multiple voices sound at once in response to a single key being pressed."

So from what I can gather 8 voices using 1 Layer, reduced to 4 voices when using 2 layers

and in unison mode it will be the same note being played with 8 slightly different voices

so from a playing perspective it's monophonic when in unison mode.
