Add location from Files App without having to duplicate samples
Hi guys, is there a way to add folders from files app into Drambo without having to duplicate samples and inscrease storage usage?
Check this video of Koala sampler, it would be really handy to have in Drambo.

If you copy files to Drambo folder on the same device, Apple's file system will already do that for you: It creates a clone that doesn't eat up additional storage. The actual file will only be removed when all copies of it are removed.
But that's not how it works in practice, if you modify the source folder the files 'imported' into Drambo are not modified.
Koala, Patterning 3 and now LogicPro for iPad do this properly, one place to link to, no 'virtual copies' which is what Drambo does on import...
Interestingly though, modifying the "clone" doesn't turn it into a full separate copy of the file. The file system somehow keeps track of just the changes to the file. Rather than doubling the size, there's only a much smaller change in storage utilization. It's pretty fascinating really.
oh i see. i hope the dev implement the koala and logic way. everything just stays in one place. so currently each time you have a new folder of samples you’d have to copy them into drambo each time. i hope some improvement come in regards to this.
What I’ve noticed is that if I’ve saved a project that has samples within it, then whenever I save presets with modules that include samples, the sample is then hard baked into the preset file. This means for drum breaks with numbers of slice variations that I have saved separately all duplicate the break. I’ve had to go back and resave the sample to a location that is referenced rather than in the project or template file, but it’s a hassle as a manual process. If the presets were saved with audio files separately then maybe APFS kicks in?
Instead of duplicating files, consider creating aliases or shortcuts to your samples in a designated folder that Drambo can access quordle. This way, you can manage your samples without increasing storage usage. Since you mentioned the functionality in Koala Sampler, consider reaching out to the Drambo development team to suggest this feature. User feedback is valuable for future updates!
All good except for one thing.
There isn't a development team, there is only one developer.
That's a spam post.
