Tempo - and + available to midi map individually

as the title says, I would like to map my small bluetooth numberpad + and - to this, at the moment it seems its only possible with midi CC increment and decrement, unless im missing something?

cheers Devs, I ABSOLUTELY love Drambo, thanks a million.

Have you tried hitting the +/- keys on the connected numpad while mapping?

That's what the "Keyboard" event type is made for.

I have yes, but - and + isnt available to midi map

I really want to use drambo as my master clock, and the oxy slaves great, whereas if the oxy is master, for some reason, changinging tempo from oxy isnt picked up smoothly in drambo, so unless I can figure a way of controlling drambos tempo smoothly when its the master clock, for a liveset where I may have to mix to a dj to takeover, I dont know.....

sending a regular midi fader cc to tempo doesnt work at all for me, it just doesnt respond to the fader (it says its mapped and is picked up while learning, but then doesnt respond) , 14bit or regular 128 stepped..

AND...when assigning tap to a key, it works in drambo, but the oxy just freaks out and stops recieving clock.....

+ and - avalible to map would solve all of this!

or...with sweaty fingers on a small screen ipad (which im basically want to hide) I can try to tap the tiny oncreen + and - 😕

    UPDATE; incase this helps someone.

turning off takeover mode (absolute cc) in settings makes my fader work to tempo, and setting a range of say 45 - 65% gives you nice tempo control in a usable club range....

but + and - would still be ace, faders are scarce in my setup 🤣

also 14bit fine control of tempo to beatmatch would be helpful, having decimals of tempo control also.

  • groovy, but how could this be applied to tempo increment, decrement, when its not availble to map? again, maybe im missing something, still new to Drambo

  • I'll see about uploading the version I use as soon as,

You can use it together with the CC gen (multi) module for adjusting Tempo or whatever you need to adjust using two or three buttons.

Two buttons are for up and down and the third is for reset.

The only caveat is that it doesn't save the last stored value and resets back to 0 when reloading other than works a treat.

  • awesome! thanks man!

I have a workable solution with a fader now, but sacrificing soft takeover on all my faders, so as long as I zero all faders before the set it will be fine :)

I have made a Mozaic script that works with tempo encoder on AKAI APC40, but if you edit it, you can use it with any button.

As a bonus, it also has nudge +/- option to adjust when e.g. syncing with external source.

  • I totally get your frustration @babyjaws

I’d be asking for the same if I wasn’t hosting Drambo in Loopy. Loopy works great in this respect but I understand you might be wanting to host AUs in Drambo.
