Convolver fade out
So I can’t think of a good way to do this but I thought it would be a lot of fun to be able to adjust reverb fade out time in the convolver module. Obviously there’s taking the wet signal and applying some kind of envelope to it but that wouldn’t really sound right imo. Maybe it’s a feature request not a project but it would be nice to use it as an adjustable reverb as an alternative of the (very excellent) fdn and plate reverbs

Yeah we need a length parameter on the convolver! That’s a pretty standard feature for convolution reverbs.
Yep, I've requested an IR envelope (like in Graphic Envelope) as well. Would be very useful.
An envelope input would be perfect then we could modulate it beyond just length. Sometimes it’s clicks at the initial hit so would be nice to adjust the attack too or do weird stuff
also @rs2000 @bcrichards just wanna say thanks for always coming thru on everyone’s questions. I appreciate what you do here
Thank you 😃
A static envelope could be done but modulation is going to be difficult. Slow modulation (like randomizing envelope params from time to time) should be doable but faster modulation most likely won't happen due to the convolution architecture.
I would say it's unlikely to happen because @giku usually hesitates to add an apparently straightforward feature when it would come with too many restrictions.
What I would like in the convolver would be an audio editor that opens if you click the waveform, like in the samplers.
another approach would be to timestrech the IR
so you could have 90% or 110% of the length
whatever doesn't sound to bad ...
and no problem to modulate this ?
Thats a good idea. Whats a good app for time stretching a wav file for convolution?
never mind apparently wavelab does it I just had to figure out where they hid stretching (in vocals?? Wtf) I just stretched an amp impulse it was wicked.
^^
its meant for reverb impulses
amps, microphones ect. will be experimental if you stretch them
