More options for sliders and xy-pads

Some of the time I use an xy-pad, although I only want to control one parameter, because a) it can snap back and b) it can be bipolar. What I'd also like would be range options like the knobs have.

For the xy-pad I'd like to be able to let it snap back to something else than the origin.

Would be nice to have those options in the context menu.

It would be nice if the XY knobs could be modulated but your only option afaik is p-locking

As for them being modulatable, I would like to experiment with recording and playing back XY motion. Bet that would be fun, perhaps using a wav file with one channel per coordinate as a storage medium, and building 2 racks for “encoding/decoding”

  • Do you mean connecting the x and y outputs of one xy-pad to a sampler and modulating the x and y of another xy=pad with the sampler to have some visual feedback? Sounds cool, maybe playing with the loop length and startpoints to get different shapes (maybe slewed to avoid sudden jumps.

Awesome would be some physics like in Fluss, too. Flicking the handle and it doesn’t immediately stop, when you let go.

  • But how do you modulate the x and y on the second pad (if that is what you meant).

I only meant p-locking empty steps to the position you want the xy pad to be at that point in time

I know it’s not the same as a spring motion you were asking for, and seeing your physics motion comment, I agree that would be awesome, but this is the only way to control the xy pad that I know of

Morph isn’t a solution either cause it assigns but then does nothing I can see

And there’s no visual feedback, but if you go under edit you see the little red dots moving once you p-lock them. Or you can use 2 scopes
