Muting a MIDI Output by swiping up the track

Hi everyone. Newbie here.

I am discovering the basic UI tricks of Drambo. And I need a clarification.

(I hope I will use the right terms. Please correct me, if needed)

Odysseyi app does not exist as a AUv3 plugin. So I launch it in parallel to Drambo, enable its « background audio » setting and set its MidiIn to 2.

In Drambo, in track 1 of my project, I add a Midi Output pointing at Odysseyi channel 2. Now I can control my Odysseyi from Drambo.

Then my Drambo project has more tracks, and I am used to mute/solo a given track with the swipe up/swipe down gesture (that track then appears in purple or black or dark grey, corresponding to its « status » : solo/normal/mute).

Unfortunately, that gesture has no real action on the Oddyseyi track, and I always hear the ARP sound, whatever the « status » of the track in Drambo.

Is there a way to mute the Odyssei from Drambo ?

PS: I also have an issue that the « Master »knob of my track 1 (:the one at the top right corner) does not change the sound level of the Odysseyi. I wonder if both issues can be corrected with a proper setup of my track 1.

    Hi,

    Yes, there is a way.

By default Drambo tracks are set to mute audio (rather than midi), and since you are monitoring outside of Drambo (at least in this case - Ody audio is not routed through Drambo) you don’t hear any difference.

In track settings you can change this behaviour to mute midi (mute style), which will block outgoing midi messages from Drambo to Ody therefore ‘muting’ it.

Your second issue is answered above - since you’re not monitoring through Drambo, Ody audio cannot be controlled inside Drambo.

Drambo can’t host IAA (inter app audio) apps, only AUv3 plugins.

You’re basically hearing audio from Drambo and Ody simultaneously, but they are not connected (nor they can be).

As a workaround you could try sending CC7 message to Ody - which is volume level on most synths - and control Ody volume from Drambo via mid CC.

Or you can capture the audio in a IAA compatible host (like AUM or Loopy Pro), and then use the audio in Drambo.
