Do MPE settings only work on monophonic patches?

I have been unable to get polyphonic patches to behave properly with MPE expression. If I set a modulation parameter to either cc74 or aftertouch, it works great as long as I am only playing one note at a time. When I play two or more notes, the aftertouch and cc74 modulations of each note compete with each other. I have put Drambo in MPE mode, and it still behaves the same way. Is there some setting that I have missed, which would allow midi polyphonic expression? Or is Drambo not fully MPE compatible?

Could anyone please upload a MIDI file with some MPE noodling?

I'm just curious and since I don't own an MPE controller, I'd like to see some real world material...

  • Ok I'm back... Have you tried Tutorials / MPE project?

You need an Instrument rack to be set on MIDI mode and MPE option needs to be active.

    Testing on Seaboard.. works great

  • Open Tutorials / MPE project and check how its configured.

Just testing this project with my Seaboard Rise connected directly to ipad.

    Everything works perfectly in polyphony.

  • Thanks @giku! That does the trick. I am having the same problem with playback when I record to the sequencer in midi MPE mode, but it’s working great for recording externally in auv3 mode though.
