Drambo to MiRACK
Greetings. I am attempting to use Drambo to control aspects of a modular array in MiRack. I would like to:
1) Control notes played by a synth voice module which outputs audio when it receives voltage to its trig and v/oct inputs.
2) clock the modular by using Drambo to stop and start a clock module which will control down stream trigger modules which control percussion modules.
I am able to, by setting up a MIDI output channel in Drambo, send MIDI information to a MIDI-to-voltage module in MiRack, and thereby control the triggering and note changes of the synth voice. So basically I am achieving goal #1. I send MIDI data to the MIDI-to-CV module and get both trig and v/oct information coming out of the module. However, no clock information seems to be coming out the module, nor does start/stop information seem to be reaching the module. Is Drambo able to do this at this time? Is there a work around?

Both mirack and drambo are DC coupled. Put drambo in the instrument slot, and mirack in the fx slot. In Drambo, route a gate+velocity sequencer (gates) to a mixer. Add an 'audio in' module in mirack. Now the gates from Drambo's gate+vel sequencer will be sent to mirack, and can be used as trigger or clock sources.
(the gate sequencer is tied to Drambo's tempo, so it should solve sync issues)
Of course, you may run into start, stop, reset issues with mirack sequencers. If you're using both mirack and drambo in the same host, why not just use the host sync module in mirack? both apps are tied to the same clock.
When you say put Drambo in the "instrument" slot and "mirack" in the effects slot you are talking about an app such as Audio Bus? I see, I was not using at third party app to connect them.
I can use ableton link even if I am working solely within an iPad? Forgive my ignorance, I work almost exclusively in hardware...Though Mirack and Drambo have me rethinking this.
Sweet
Remember to multiply drambo's note cv by 0.8 and to make sure you don't loose gain anywhere down the line.
Ableton Link is simply a feature that apps have now? Like you do not have to use them via a third party like AUM or Audiobus? I am not finding the abelton link feature in Drambo.
boom. got it. thanks!
