How to select a track with a midi cc - but without playing a note ?
Hi. So I’m sure there must a be a solution to this....
I want to map a midi cc button from a controller to ‘select’ a particular track - i.e. CC20 and the focus goes a track 1, CC21 focus to track 2 etc.
The issue I’ve got is that I’m doing this by mapping a controller to a track pad, but ....when selected - it sends through a midi note to the instrument in the track - I’d like to be able to select the track, bring it into focus - but without a midi note being sent to the track.
Any ideas ?

Make sure the trig button to the left of the pads is off.
Hahaha brilliant - thank you 😊
To piggyback on that question, is there a way to mute a track with midi cc without having that same midi cc signal also be tied to selecting the track?
Not sure if this is what you mean... select main track and map mute/solo directly.
@rec I think what @spikemoss asks for is a number of controls related to any currently selected track so you only need one mute and one one solo button, one volume, one pan knob and two FX send knobs that acts on whichever track is currently selected.
I would definitely support this request @giku because it would make quite a difference in supporting a lot of current MIDI controllers that only have a few knobs/encoders like some Arturias, Novation SLs and the AKAI LPDs and APCs of course.
Thank you @rec that is helpful and so obvious, doh 🤦♂️. @rs2000 what you describe would also be a helpful feature!
