Delta

I’ve been working on this for a while and finally have something to share. It’s not finished yet and will likely be broken into a few different projects.

Delta, or the difference between two signals, can seem pretty uninteresting at first. In fact, it’s often perceived as silence, or near silence. But brought up to audible levels, it shows all sorts of interesting artifacts.

Delta takes a signal, and prompts to explore the subtle or grand differences between two different processing paths. It is then optionally run through some dynamics processing to match the output signal back to roughly the input signals volume. It can be used for all sorts of weird effects but the most musical I’ve found here are bit reduction as a synthesis method, ducking effects on reverb and delay, and rather unique distortion and compression/expansion.
