+ - buttons to midi transpose

I have two spare buttons on my controller that I’d like to use to transpose the whole project.

I’ve tried to reverse engineer the PC sending contraption that sent PC messages consecutively using gate counter module but that didn’t quite go to plan.

I feel there’s a fairly straight forward way to do it but it’s totally eluding me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
