I’m looking forward to it to host larger Drambo projects within a single track.. like the MF-105 idea @rs2000 had. Completely impractical on its own, but soon it could be hosted in a single rack. I’m really happy about that so I can start building drum racks, with full accessibility to xox programming. (As it is now, editing multiple drums on a single sequencer lane is tedious).
Some of the mirack modules are going to be an absolute blast to include in Drambo too.
I’m pretty excited for this. I was months ago, and then I kind of lost interest, but now having picked up a Model Cycles and gotten my head around that and gotten an appreciation for just what Drambo does this is gonna be awesome. Like others say, being able to slot in Blackhole or MiRack or stuff like Replicant 2 is going to be wild. As someone who is primarily interested in using Drambo in standalone mode this is tremendous.
Yeah, I really like some of audible instruments physical modeling modules. There’s some good Karplus Strong stuff in there too, and loads of great fx, folders and saturators.
I haven’t spent nearly enough time with mirack lately though. I’m thinking AU hosting in Drambo is about to change that =)
Yes, karplus is limited to tones, you mentioned, hence waveguide model is extended. Its good for drums.. and inharmonic stuff.. play with apf , filter and modulate freq / filter.
I use jump all the time. For track length this does suffice and is identical to adding a dedicated feature so I’ll concede on that. Track speed is useful for hats and such where you want to program 32nds and 64ths and such.
And clips. This is why decoupling patterns from the tracks is useful you could mix and match track patterns, even if track length is already possible.
To me this is way more added power as a whole to the groovebox that is Drambo rather than making Drambo some sort of AU hosting DAW like thing. AUM already hosts AUs better as a utility mixer than anyone else can why compete with that?
It’s funny I feel so opposite the other user who said they love using standalone Drambo and as such are excited for AU hosting. As a standalone user who wants a monolithic groovebox, I see no point in being able to stick other instruments inside Drambo. That’s like saying you want to put a Korg Prophecy inside your Digitakt in a track. Just why?! If you wanna use Drambo with other instruments, then use AUM. You can just load a midi out and step lock to your hearts content.
But yeah I don’t have to use it if I don’t want. Harrrumph!!
Your updates and dedication to the app is so fast and unrelenting, thanks for all the hard work! It’s silly but whenever I see updates for Drambo in my Appstore account I leap out of bed to the studio!
This is a great update, and everything seems to work which is quite an achievement in the AUv3 world!
Are there any plans to support plugin delay compensation? Although most FX are ok, mainly the ones that do forward looking compression or limiting can noticeably delay the output. Being modular I guess this is more complicated.
@giku there seems to be a problem with multi out for AU effects. I tried both Scatterbrain and FAC Bandit and I can only get audio from the first output. Multi out in instruments works fine. Let me know if a video or project would help.
I'll make you a very nice synth patch when "Poly k pressure" works for different keys, that can be controlled by only pushing pads on the Beatstep. A "Play with closed eyes synth pad monster" so to say 😍

Sunrizer inside drambo goes a long way
let’s add some granular AUs,
let’s use whatever au plugin and add a few drambo modules after it
lets add an arpeggioator and a midihumanizer from drambo ...
Let’s add some crazy fx AU
and a limiter on the masterbus
Grooves my box plenty 😃
or sails into ambient nirvana 😃
beeing able to trigger sunrizer or Zeeon or something else with step conditions
Is worlds of quick fun 🤠
let’s add the der voco the beepstreet vocoder au
it’s all tasty 😋
we all hope for best x–mas wishes from drambo ;)
jumping from step 1 to step 4,
so it only plays step 4 and following steps
shortens track from 16 steps to 13 steps ...
Individual track length
is currently
use step jump condition (jump over n number of steps to make it shorter)
(also does poly rhythms... if u use it on 2 tracks)
au Hosting doesn’t add unnecessary complexity
if u don’t use it
u don’t see it at all
its just another drambo module ...

Waveguide is a karplus strong on steroids... it adds allpass filter and optional nonlinearity..
I like that one too :)) But I wish I was better at programming more than harpsichords and guitars out of it haha.

I’ll give a crack at some drum programming with the waveguide later today! Thanks for the idea.

The next major update will be about sequencer and track extensions, like track speed

Ok you guys are convincing me. Time to experiment.
omg. i wasn't expecting this so soon!
THANK YOU @giku 🥳
Just tried it in the flesh and now I understand. Threw Spacecraft into the rack. It’s pretty nifty.
We were all a little sceptic when we only heard it as idea
but after everybody had it 5 minutes in the hands
we all agreed omg it’s the best thing since sliced bread
how could I be sceptic about this
so I had low expectations
but it’s the bomb.
Every day I search Drambo in the App Store to see if there has been an update. Not because it needs one of course!
Needless to say, my eyebrows almost shot off my face today :)
Thank you @giku I was having way too stressful of a day. Can’t wait to get home.

Is there a way to send pitch bend and mid wheel to the hosted plugins. The cc generator seems to be for external plugins?
Pitch Bend is yet to come but modwheel can be grabbed with the MIDI => CC Modulator.
Added pitch wheel to the list
I'm gonna check this. Thanks
Would you please also add channel and polyphonic aftertouch? Thank you 😇
Yes ... one of them is here: Modulators / Channel pressure. Then you select channel aftertouch or polyphonic key option. Have you tried it?
Thanks, it looks good but output is always zero and I've checked the incoming MIDI stream for the correct messages.
The polyphonic key option would also need a key selector field to pick only one of the keys (for MIDI notes) from the stream.
Sorry, wrong mode...
