BT keyboard uses
I just pulled the trigger on this little beauty.
I wonder if anyone found any creative uses for them with Drambo iOS.
I have a number only keypad and just started using it as a bit juggler and effect trigger. Then I run out of keys!!! ๐
So when this arrives I’m thinking scene launching.
Anything else?
BTW this is tiny 11 x 6cm!

You probably know you can play 2 octaves of notes on the 4 rows of keys. So, anything triggered by a note is possible.
I thought I was the only one interested in it. after Drambo's keyboard mapping update, a similar small BT keyboard became useful.
1234567890
mute track12345678910
shift 1234567890
plays pattern 1-10
playpause spacebar
command z undo
tap tempo return
what do u mean with u run out out of keys?
thats what shift is for ...
Nice one. I was referring to my little number keypad with 27 keys and no shift
I think it’s an amazing ultra portable, small footprint, wireless, battery powered, high novelty factor stage prop!!
I was looking for a little controller to tape to my bop pad and Minim was the only small and wireless one and it’s quite expensive.
Small qwerty totally fits the bill though.
yes, I’m aware of that but being bt (latency) and very small playing melodies would probably amount to torture.
For things like muting unmuting, launching, on/off etc it’s perfect. Latency for punch in effects is just about useable.
I wanted to buy the new aturia midi thingy, not available for weeks. :/
this has expression footpedal input :)
Is the expression pedal the dealbreaker? If not mk 2 is great and can be found cheap second hand.
i also like really like the layout of this, with faders and knobs , pads, keys
i waited forever to get a midi controller again because I didn't like what was on the market.
this seems to do a lot of things right :)
it kind of does it all I need
(one octave more would be great)
Ah got it. Yeah, faders are helpful.
Here's my pocket setup. That micro BT keyboard was modified with a BlackBerry Q10 keyboard and I can customize the function of each key. I use it to switch tracks for Drambo and OP-Z at the same time, and the three separate buttons below the BT keyboard I set to record, mute, and undo. I use the OP-Z for the external sequencer, midi keyboard, midi controller, and audio interface.
In the wooden box there is a hidden hub to connect the OP-Z, keyboard and iPhone, and provides an additional USB port to connect other midi controllers or audio interfaces, and can also connect the lighting power cable to power all devices.
For me this setup is portable, powerful and fun enough :)
That's an awesome setup.
Yeah, amazing setup @ZhouJing!
Super rig @ZhouJing I love ultra portable solutions!
What was the wooden box in its previous life?
I made the wooden box myself. I have a woodworking workshop with CNC equipment to machine it.
Brilliant. Makes sense. I was only wondering because of the semi circle cavities around the op but I guess that’s for getting it out. Great skills.
That's an inspiring setup for sure :)
This is my current bt keypad location. Not as sleek as @ZhouJing ‘s but I do not have a woodworking workshop ๐
Ah, I see what you're trying to do with the micro keyboard. If you use it for performance, I think you might be disappointed. It's keys are too tiny so they can be easily mis-touched, and to make matters worse it will hibernate after a few dozen seconds, and there's a long delay in pressing the keys again after hibernation.
Do you mean the one in the last picture I’ve posted or the one I just bought but haven’t yet received?
The number keypad is definitely ok size wise and if it hibernates it does come back on first touch.
I did wonder if the keys of the full mini keyboard weren’t too small but bought it anyway as it was quite cheap. I’ll post my impressions here.
Anyhow, this would only be an add on to my other wired controllers so would only be used here and there.
I think the foot pedal input will be really cool
tweak some morph or scene morph with my foot while I have my hands free to do other things ... :)
there also is a boss footpedal BT midi thingy, if it needs to be wireless - if anyone is interested
nice,
it looks like a James Bond spy enigma ^^
if you dont know what you are looking at.
dont go to the airport with that. ๐คฃ
Haha, someone really asked me if this is some kind of secret agent equipment, and I answered yes ๐.
I have trouble at the airport each time I travel with my suitcase rig!!!
@supadom
You could turn it into an eight step sequencer with adjacent up+down buttons for various modulations.
all these weird wired up devices with homemade special bits,
oh look it has an led display and batteries and wires, looks self-made
it must be a bomb
๐
Next time I’m wearing a balaclava!

I’ve just realised that my keypad can only send 2 keystrokes simultaneously. I’m already chuffed that it is more than one but wondering whether it is the keypad’s or Drambo limitation? @giku
