Keyboard notes triggering controls
So this is definitely a dumb question but I’m a total beginner and very confused.
I have an APC40 and a Minilab connected to drambo, and drambo is in AUM. I’m using the APC40 to trigger channel changes, so I can use the Minilab to play different instruments on AUM channels and record the midi when I find something good. I felt like I had finally figured it out.
But now I have an issue. My APC is triggering notes in the active instrument and keyboard notes are hitting midi clips and record and play and all that.
how do I, a dummy, fix this issue? Is there a way to use both of these controllers without this issue happening? Can I reroute the buttons to use a different midi cc number or something?

If I haven’t misunderstood the problem I think what you need to do is use a different midi channel for controls and notes so they don’t overlap.
also Im curious why you’re using Aum?
AUM because I’m more or less comfortable with the layout and workflow, I just started using drambo in the way Jakob haq shows to try it out.
How would I use a different midi channel to trigger notes vs controls? Just filter incoming midi?
Wait, if you have both the Minilab and the APC40 connected to AUM, don't you see both in the MIDI matrix?
If I get your setup right then all you need to do is enable the APC for MIDI control only.
You would need to change the MIDI channel in the hardware settings of one of the controllers.
FWIW. When I map notes via midi map those notes are excluded and not sent to the instrument.
I did not know this was possible, so that was sort of a big blind spot. Thank you. Is it possible to do this in standalone drambo as well?
