Its been really supper interesting as a makerspace CAM studio to adapt the process with @gravitas for a Crave Synth design as well as now exploring the logistics of adding Midi for a v2 like dump out configurations and a modular integrated light bar. Aside for my skills as a designer of stuff together with our daughter, my partner is a super talented software engineers running ioncube.com who's first love happens to be lighting, making stuff with electronics and also plays with Music ;) So we collectively have the skills/tools to make some weird cool stuff happen :D

Ah ha, that’s what I thought,… I didn’t realise that “Lockhart” was one of the Graphic shaper presets.
I think I’m going to head in the direction of the Graphic Shaper a little later on. ;)
have fun 😁
modulate the amp with something ... push against it to fold harder/ create more overtones ...
this used to be a royal pain in the ass, with the new drambo monitoring its fabulous 😎
thx, giku.
if only I had an lpg, lol
thinking about it
noise + formant filter from drambo
or noise and samplerate reducer
do also fit well into the complex sounds out of nothing school of thinking?
still want an lpg to finish it off 😅
wavefolding & LPGs dont sound like uncle bob at all :)
This’ll tickle you.
I’ve got all of the outputs from the Crave going into my audio interface including the noise generator.
So basically this is it…
Ch 1 - Main VCA/Line output (currently Pulse width + VCF self oscillating and tuned)
Ch 2 - Saw
Ch3 - Pulse width
Ch 4 - Noise Generator
I have switchable on/off Env ADSR combinations for each channel so that
I can hear the York modular LPG and whenever I like I can switch to dRambo’s ADSR’s.
On each channel in dRambo I also have cutoff filters in place which I mentioned earlier
and I’m currently mapping the whole thing to an LC XL. :) 😁
Yeah, wavefolder certainly doesn’t sound like Uncle Bob at all😏…Wait a sec…Who is Uncle Bob anyway???🧐
meanwhile
?
:)
this starts to get the right vibe
the envelope flex is really under explored,
I think 3 ms smooth a little shape together with cumulate go a long way
uncle bob is like Xerox
everybody stole from both 🤣
Agreed, it’s also really cool for making kick drums slam. ;)
First full on improv with the Crave and Optothing.
It’s a bit rough but most of it’s there.
For those interested in such things, the full list of apps used are in the tags section.
I’ll put up a full list at some point soon.
Though the visuals are focused on the Optothing and iphone 7, the ipad out of shot to the left is doing
the main sequencing for the Crave and supplying an extra LFO+Filter sweep+Env via “ASSIGN”
for those who have Crave’s and dare I say it the similar thing on the Mother 32’s.
I also patched the “ASSIGN” output one of the CV’s on the Optothing which produced interesting results.
Enjoy.
Behringer Crave patch sheet.
Update.
I’ve been “quietly” designing synths, effects processors, drum machines and sequencers within dRambo.
Many of them you may have seen here
which depicts my journey through dRambo so far.
Many of them are quite involved so I’ve midi mapped quite a few.
If anyone is interested in midi mapped synths with custom overlays
I will be offering the overlays to match said projects and for the future ones also.
The first overlay will be ready in a couple of weeks so bear with me.
On another note, @Dorine and I have been really focused on creating
something unique in regards to the Crave custom stand.
More news to follow.

damned, I have been overcomplicating LPGs
i realize now 🤦🏻♂️
its just this
morph moves level of amp and 6 db filter ... if audio loud filter open fully
We’ve all been doing it. 😂
Nicely done. 😁
@lala I like how you used the Morph module,
I do that with FDN module to add interesting overtones to percussive sounds.
Screenshot;
@lala On another note, what would be cool is to gather all the dRambo LPG variations in one thread.
@gravitas I like to modulate the decay of the resonator with the morph, I do that all the time
I love that as well. It’s so much fun. :)
😁
Quick update.
Photos for the prototype stands including the overlays will be ready by the end of the week.
The linear power supply to power eurorack arrived today.
Its a big beast to run only two filters so next up I’m going to find out how to connect up said beast
because though it did come with instructions I need to research mains power supplies.
Who said Eurorack was easy….smh……😁
@rec Protoyping the overlay has started.
Raw basic. ;)
I was looking a little "beauty case"
the new deopfer stereo filter
after I added all the utilities I want
(envelope follower, gate divider, modulatable lfo, 2 x modulatable envelope, Noise/s&h, joystick)
I looked at how much I have to pay 😳 🤪
no thx , endless money pit
its always the same
I start looking at things and then its ah I need this and that,
then I build something that makes sense to me , then I look at how much that would cost and I think somebody get me out of here ^^
and if I look at small systems its always missing this and that to not be to boring to me 👾
I hear you for sure and agreed it is a money pit.
I’ve got some ideas floating around for non expensive boutique cases that can hold a few modules.
Currently thinking them through now and I may have a working model very soon. :)
joysticks (XY) are really cool (all it needs to do is stay where u left it, and not snap back)
but the prices are silly 🤣
cutoff on up and down
and reso and lfo speed on left right 😋
(lfo does AM on vca)
uh baby, dont sexy talk to me like that 😏 😂
Here’s a single stand concept for one passive module.
I should have another for three modules with external power supply ready by next week.
this must be the cheapest Roland synth ever
together 200 bugs
